The intricate yet effortless design of the Trainyard™ London Underground Train captures the classic proportions beautifully, incorporating all of the most recognisable features of these London icons. Vibrant, infused colours highlight the luxury of the new Wood-Plastic Composite material and brings its beauty to the surface. The exquisitely hand illustrated packaging not only celebrates Leslie Green, designer of many of London’s most timeless stations, but it has been purposely designed to be upcycled. Inside the box is a built-in track that connects to all standard wooden track sets. (Wooden track not included)

At every stage of development, from 6m to 7y+ the train and its tracks pose different challenges. Offering new possibilities and discoveries over time that will spur cognitive development and creativity.

 

6m to 2y:

• The movement of the wheels, the colours and how the train fits on the track develop early reasoning and fine motor skills.

2y to 4y:

• Building the track and learning how the shapes work together to form a circuit further expands reasoning and problem-solving abilities

• The train and station provide endless possibilities for imaginative role playing

• Connecting the cars by learning the properties of magnets encourages logical thinking

4y+:

• Advanced, multi-level track construction and 3D train puzzle assembly work together to develop: creativity, improve hand eye-coordination, boost self-esteem and build problem solving and reasoning skills

• Faithfully represented design elements offer opportunities for recognizing, connecting and learning about real-world architecture and design features

 

​Compatible

For an inclusive playtime experience, the specially designed trains are compatible with classic wooden railway engines and tracks. The packaging track- insert, which is included with the Trainyard™ London Underground Train, connects to many standard wooden track systems such as Imaginarium, BRIO and Melissa & Doug.

 

​Sustainably Sourced

Trainyard™ London Underground Train uses discarded wood and plastic bottles as raw material for the manufacture of its WPC products. Wood waste is made into sawdust through a pulverization process. 

Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) reduces environmental impact as it is a sustainable solution that makes use of organic material with virgin, recycled or renewable plastics, using waste materials.

The wood and plastic compounds do not require high temperatures for fusion, which results in lower energy costs for producers and a much-reduced environmental impact.
